What are the best cheap tickets at a hockey game?

I’m planning on buying my boyfriend hockey tickets to a game with his favourite team playing at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. I can’t afford to spend too much, so I was wondering what the best cheap seats are…it doesn’t matter if you’re not from Toronto or aren’t familiar with the ACC, as long as you’re familiar with some sort of large arena. Any suggestions would be very helpful!
Thanks =)

Well, i’m from detroit and at joe louis arena the cheap seats are not seats at all! Standing room only is cheap for wings games, as well as, upper deck

I’m a Bruins fan and go to the Garden from time to time to watch. There really aren’t any bad seats in the Garden and hockey is a game you can pretty much watch from any angle. I just wouldn’t get the top deck directly behind the nets. Don’t go for standing room either.

I think the best cheap spot is upper deck about parallel to the goal. That’s what I usually get and they are great seats. I’m a college student too so it’s really necessary I get good cheap seats.

Well, when I have gone to Toronto I have had to pay $500 for tickets on the lower level…. any other arena and I pay $200 for the same tickets. I don’t know about the cheaper tickets but most arenas have $40 tickets in the nosebleeds… I would not surprised if you have to pay $200 for 2 for the cheapest seats there. Sorry.

(Of course it always depends on who the Leafs are playing that night but you can get an idea… from what I understand all those seats are owned by season ticket holders and a lot of them are owned by ticket brokers.)

Prices on the site I am going to give you are cheaper but these prices can be deceptive for hidden fees. Good luck.

Any seats are good. I usually sit in the corners and it’s just fine. Sometimes you can find a steal in the corners. I paid $20 to sit in the corner 2nd row tonight and they were awesome seats. Of course Toronto’s prices are probably higher but you really can’t go wrong with Hockey Seats. Everything’s good..

Well, they will be on the upper level. Being somewhere near center ice (halfway between each end of the ice) is usually preferred by most hockey fans. (Upper 308, 309, 310, 320, 321, 322) The lower the row number, the closer you are to the ice. (price around $150/seat)

Row 19 in the 300’s is Standing Room. (Price around $75)

Upper level towards one end of the ice cost $100-125

Sometimes you can get seats closer to the ice for the same or a little less if you sit at on end in line with the net.

The above prices are for the Dec 30th game versus Atlanta.

In San Jose the cheap seats go for about $25 in the upper bowl. If the game is sold out then I have to purchase from a ticket agency and pay a fee on top of the face value of the ticket.

I’ve sat in every area of the Xcel Energy Center and there isn’t a bad seat in that place. They do however have stadium seating (where the stairs are more vertical than horizontal) so that helps. If you are able though, try to get seats more towards the middle of the ice, like along the red or blue lines instead of behind the goals.

But no matter what, if he’s a hockey fan, he’ll love the fact that he’s going to a game so don’t get too bent out of shape in where you sit.

Have you never been to a NHL game, no such thing as cheap tickets, unless you get them free.

Cheapest seat at the ACC would probably be in the $40s – $50s, those would be at the very top. I paid $87 upper level corner last year. You can count on spending $50 to over $400, depending where you sit.

You’re going to have to sit in the upper deck, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Your best bet is BookMe. You can compare ALL the reputable sports ticket sites, and save money. Good luck!

The important thing to do is shop around. First check ticketmaster, but most of the time, the Maple Leafs sell out.

If ticketmaster doesn’t have tickets, check craigslist, ebay and some of the secondary ticket market websites (I’ll list them below).

I live in Boston and have had a lot of luck waiting until they day of the game and getting tickets for below face off of craigslist.

    Good luck!
