Carbs, Carbs Carbs! Pastas, Chicken, things with alot of carbohydrates in it. Fruit like bananas and oranges are also good for amino acids and great to munch on even in-between periods. You wanna stay away from anything with high sugars and fats. and JUNK FOOD! Those drinks like ‘Monster’ or ‘RedBull’ tend to give you a quick jolt of energy but you tend to crash later. I used to use them before games and now I avoid them like the plague. I have used that ‘5 hour energy’ drink and it does work, However! Nothing replaces eating right.

Carbs (pastas, etc) the day before/day of. Lots of fruits and vegetables the day of.
No junk food, or greasy food, etc.
Avoid energy drinks (Red Bull, etc).
Whatever foods make you feel at the top level you can feel, eat those. Experiment with different foods before practices and whichever ones you feel the best with, eat those. If you don’t have time to experiment (sounds like you don’t) then just go with carbs and fruits/vegetables.

    Good luck with the game.

EDIT: Also, stay hydrated throughout the day. Lots of water (but not too much). If you feel thirsty you’re already dehydrated.
